15 Bodies Found, 14 Without Head

The body of 15 men was found on Saturday (08/01/2011) near a shopping center in the seaside resort town of Acapulco. The bodies were believed to be a victim in the latest action in Mexico's drug war. 

Police discovered the bodies after receiving reports of fire on Saturday morning. However, no fires were found, but five cars are abandoned and 15 bodies of men, with 14 of them in a truncated state. 


In a message left on around the corpses, the written sign "El Chapo's People", which refers to the Sinaloa drug cartel. "The cartel is led by Joaquin" El Chapo "Guzman," said Montreal Leyva, Director of Investigation Guerrero. 


"On the roadside Senderos Plaza shopping center is found 15 decapitated bodies of men, aged 25-30 years. Their heads were found in one place, except one which is almost disconnected from his body, and no scar projectiles from firearms," said Leyva


The killing was a new record in the cruel slaughter between groups that have terrorized large parts of Mexico due to war antarkartel drugs. More than 300,000 people have been killed since 2006 when the government of President Felipe Calderon has done a massive war using military force against drug groups. In the last year recorded 12 000 murders a result of drug abuse. 


Guerrero, southwest state where Acapulco is located, is the headquarters of La Familia drug cartel known sadist, who make war with the Zetas and their allies Pacifico Sur. Pacifico Sur accused of the kidnapping of 20 tourists Mexico on September 30. Cartel Pacifico Sur said that the abduction was false arrest because he thought the perlancong was a member of La Familia. The bodies of the travelers was later found buried a month later in a mass grave near Acapulco. 


Kingpin and spiritual leader of La Familia, Nazario Moreno, have been reported killed on 9 December in a shootout with security forces in his hometown in Mexico's western state of Michoacan. However, his body was never found. Groups that are specifically selling synthetic drugs such as shabu-shabu in October 2005 it rolled five human heads onto the dance floor nightclub. Among these heads there is a written message stating that the La Familia does not kill women or children. "Only those who have died will die. All must know that this is pure justice," the message. 


The massacre became increasingly common in Mexico along with the spread of war to eradicate drugs. In late August, 72 immigrants were abducted and murdered on a farm in northern Tamaulipas state. In October, several armed men fire killed 14 people in the party in the northern border city of Ciudad Juarez. A day later 13 seniors were killed in similar attacks in the detox center in the border city of Tijuana. Body of murder victims found in mass graves, including 55 bodies in Guerrero in June and 51 dead in northern Nuevo Leon in July.
